Creating Space for Peace and Stillness

Traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryōhō & Sound Therapy

At Out East Wellness, I offer a quiet, supportive space to rest, reconnect, and simply be.

My Reiki practice is Usui Reiki Ryōhō, a traditional Japanese practice rooted in stillness, self-cultivation, and the relationship between mind and body.

Reiki is practiced in many different ways around the world. The approach I practice is different from many of the forms of Reiki people may have encountered in the West. Rather than directing or channeling energy, the practice begins with allowing the mind to settle.

There is nothing you need to perform, achieve, or believe. You don't have to make anything happen.

We begin with stillness.

What Is Usui Reiki Ryōhō?

Usui Reiki Ryōhō is a quiet, meditative practice developed in Japan by Mikao Usui.

At its heart is a simple practice of becoming still and present.

Most of us have instinctively placed a hand on a place that hurts or reached out to comfort someone we love. There is something very natural about the gesture of a caring hand.

Reiki begins with that simplicity.

Rather than trying to produce a particular result, I create a quiet space where you can rest, listen, and allow the mind to settle.

As the mind becomes quieter, you may become more aware of yourself—your thoughts, your feelings, your body, and the present moment.

There is no experience you are supposed to have.

Every person and every session is different.

Other styles and approaches to Reiki emphasize different things. This is simply the tradition and practice I have chosen to follow.
